Yoga Instructor
Heather teaches Yoga full time, specializing in alignment-focused, trauma-informed Hatha Yoga. She is known for being super keen on safety and alignment with a straight forward delivery and precise physical instruction of the poses.
Heather began practicing yoga in 1998 to help manage postpartum depression after reading about its benefits for calming the mind and relaxing the body. After years of practicing yoga off and on, a 2007 injury led her back to the mat for private yoga instruction with Valerie Innes. This reignited her passion for yoga, and she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2011 under Sherry Schreck, launching her first home-based class just one week after graduation.
To better support students with specific needs, Heather pursued specialized training in trauma-informed yoga. She studied with Hala Khouri in 2012 and completed the Prison Yoga Project teacher training with James Fox in 2014. These techniques are central to her teaching today, allowing her to customize every class for those in attendance. Over the past fifteen years Heather has taught in yoga studios, resorts, gyms, resource centers, and in private homes. She's led a yoga class on Zoom since 2020, and after taking 3.5 years off from teaching in-person yoga classes, she returned to the classroom in January 2026 at a wellness center in Anza, California. In April 2026 Heather opneed a Yoga garden in Anza.
